This album was the result of our $18,000 recording grant from 91.5fm TheBeat. It was a great experience to be a part of a recording that was as straight ahead commercial as possible. Great tunes, great band, and lots of fun.

This is the first album that I was actually playing lead alto with the band. This was the year that we performed with Dave Liebman and Vince Mendoza, there is a great mix of content.

This is the second and last album that I did with the band. This is the year that we played with Dave Douglas and Steve Gadd, there was a nice mix of tunes on the album as well as some great arrangements/compositions by people in the band.

Recorded in early February 2011, this album was made possible by the generous support of the Canadian taxpayer (Canada Council for the Arts) and was supported by a cross Canada jazz festival tour. If you haven't heard Alex before - you MUST buy this disc!
